Own a Mountain Retreat that Earns its Keep

Come Stay With Us

Many of our buyers first fell in love with Grand View Falls as overnight guests. Stay in one of our short-term rental cabins, wake up to the same mountain views, and see what ownership feels like before you buy.

Short-term rentals at Grand View Falls

Grand View Falls is nestled between the Snowbird and Nantahala Mountain ranges, between the cities of Andrews and Topton. It’s in North Carolina’s fastest-growing tourism county (Cherokee County tourist spending up nearly 14% in 2025). Two words rarely in the same sentence: mountains and convenience! Guests can drive down from the tranquility of 3,000+ feet in elevation and be at the local Ingles, Andrews’ festivals, and restaurants and shops in about 12 minutes. Vacationers come for the rivers, lakes, legendary drives, hikes, and rafting, and mountain quiet, and they need a place to stay. A 1 to 10 acre lot or cabin in the Grand View Falls community gives you a family getaway and a personal vacation home that can pay its way while you’re not using it.

Why visitors are already coming

  • Mountain solitude, everyday convenience. Guests wake up to quiet ridgelines and big views. It’s 3 minutes down the mountain and about 12 minutes to groceries, dining, and fun in Andrews, or just under 20 minutes to rafting and restaurants at the Nantahala Outdoor Center.
  • Great Smoky Mountains National Park. America’s most visited national park drew more than 12 million visits in 2024, and it’s about an hour away.
  • White water rafting. The Nantahala River and the Nantahala Outdoor Center, which hosts nearly 1 million guests a year, are about 20 miles away.
  • Water sports on three mountain lakes. Go boating, paddling, swimming, and fishing on Lake Nantahala (about 30 minutes), Lake Santeetlah, and Fontana Lake.
  • Fly fishing. Cold mountain trout streams run throughout the Nantahala National Forest, including the Nantahala River.
  • Hunting. More than half a million acres of Nantahala National Forest surround the area, much of it open public game land for deer, turkey, and bear.
  • Hiking. Trails include the Appalachian Trail where it crosses the Nantahala Gorge, the Bartram Trail, Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest’s old-growth giants, and waterfalls like Leatherwood Falls.
  • Mountain biking. Ride the nationally known Tsali trails on Fontana Lake and Jackrabbit Mountain on Lake Chatuge.
  • Off-road motorsports. Tatham Gap Road, a 7-mile forest road, runs from Andrews to Robbinsville. The Wayehutta trail system offers more than 20 miles for dirt bikes, ATVs, and side-by-sides.
  • Legendary drives. Tail of the Dragon, with 318 curves in 11 miles, draws an estimated 240,000 motorcyclists a year, and just as many auto sports enthusiasts. It’s about 38 miles away, and the Cherohala Skyway is close by too.
  • Small-town festivals. Andrews’ Christmas on Main, fall harvest events, and the John C. Campbell Folk School Fall Festival in Brasstown, which draws about 13,000 visitors, fill the calendar. A short drive brings you to Murphy, Hayesville, Franklin, Bryson City and others.
  • Fly-in access. Western Carolina Regional Airport is minutes away, with a 5,500-foot runway, fuel, and hangars for private and charter flights.
  • Casino and spa. Harrah’s Cherokee Valley River Casino & Mandara Spa in Murphy is about 16 minutes away.

Two ways to invest

Buy a cabin. Start hosting sooner with a finished mountain home.

Buy a lot and build. Design the rental guests want, with hot tub, views, and space for families. A new build may also qualify for accelerated depreciation; ask your tax advisor. Mack Development is on site with staff and equipment ready to build your cabin.

Rules and taxes, in plain terms

Cherokee County allows short-term rentals. Owners register the rental and collect a 4% county occupancy tax plus North Carolina sales tax on stays under 90 days. Your management company typically handles the collection. Ask us about community guidelines for rentals in Grand View Falls.
